The EARLY DAYS
Bobby Brown Best Buds opened for business as a Medical Marijuana Dispensary on 7/1/2019 with Bobby Brown as the owner. It opened in Downtown Colorado Springs and quickly became known by medical marijuana patients throughout Colorado Springs. In the first few years of operation, the dispensary won awards and was recognized more than once for being in the TOP Three Medical Dispensaries in Colorado Springs.
Todays Retail & Medical Dispensary
In January of 2021, Bobby had a vision of changing how the business operated and he sold his grow attached to the business. This would enable Bobby Brown Best Buds to purchase flowers from many different growers/vendors throughout the state. In doing this, he could then offer his patients a wide variety of the BEST flowers throughout Colorado. His goal was to be the “Unique Boutique Dispensary” in Colorado Springs! His patient base quickly grew as he became known for the BEST quality of flower due to his high variety with competitive prices. He continued his success in the medical marijuana field at his original location at 506 S Nevada Ave until August of 2025.
To expand his operation into recreational marijuana as well as maintain his well-known medical dispensary, Bobby moved the business to 1131 W Colorado Ave on the Westside of Colorado Springs and near Old Colorado City on August 25, 2025. This new location offers easy access to new customers and existing patients, providing the best of the best in marijuana for Colorado Springs.

About the Founder Bobby Brown
Bobby started his career in law enforcement in 1971 when he worked as a deputy for the El Paso County Sheriff’s office. He worked in patrol for 1 year and was then promoted to the Sheriff’s office’s first undercover unit, with an emphasis on organized crime. He worked his way up to Lieutenant and was assigned to the Homicide Bureau, where he worked until January of 1975.
Over the next few years, he worked as a detective for the Fountain PD, the Craig PD, and the Colorado Organized Strike Force, where his emphasis was on white-collar crime.
He entered the private investigator arena in 1981 and worked for many different clients, contributing to many well-known cases throughout Colorado over the next 10 years.
In May 1991, he opened Bobby Brown Bail Bonds and the business quickly rose to one of the TOP 10 listed bail bond companies in the country. In 2005, he was invited to join the production of “Dog the Bounty Hunter”, the reality show based on the tracking and capturing of fugitives who skipped their court obligations. He offered many story lines to the show, contributing his own fugitive files as the story lines and creating active fugitives for capture. This was a tremendously successful show, which continues in syndication in all 50 states as well as 18 countries. To this day, it is still watched by millions of people worldwide.
He decided to venture into the marijuana business when medical marijuana was legalized in Colorado, where he remains today. He is also still active in cold case investigations as well as contributing his expertise in other investigative arenas across the nation.
